About this policy

Aromatherapy Companion is provided by Purple Clouds Holistics. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Aromatherapy Companion.

This policy applies specifically to Aromatherapy Companion. The general Purple Clouds Holistics website privacy policy applies separately to use of the Purple Clouds Holistics website and other business services.

Account and authentication information

Aromatherapy Companion uses a signed-in account so that your access, saved content and subscription status can be kept separate from other users.

Base44 provides the account, authentication and app backend services used by Aromatherapy Companion.

Depending on the sign-in options available in the app, you may sign in using email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple.

If you use Google or Apple to sign in, the sign-in provider may provide Base44 with an account identifier and basic account information such as your name or email address, depending on the information you choose to share and the provider's settings.

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address. Purple Clouds Holistics can use that relay address only for account-related communication supported by Apple's relay service.

Saved oils, blends and journal entries

Oils, blends and journal entries that you choose to save are associated with your signed-in account so that they can persist across app updates and be restored when you sign back in.

The app may also keep an account-specific copy on your device to support normal app operation, synchronisation and recovery.

Account data is kept separate between signed-in users.

Wellness and safety information

When using personalised blend features, you may choose to provide information relevant to the requested blend and its safe use.

This may include information such as pregnancy, sensitive skin, seizure history, high or low blood pressure, asthma or breathing sensitivity, medication use, allergies or sensitivities, oils you prefer or wish to avoid, and other wellness information you choose to enter.

This information is used to provide the blend guidance you request and to apply relevant aromatherapy safety checks.

Please avoid entering personal or health information that is not necessary for the feature you are using.

AI-assisted features

Some Aromatherapy Companion features use AI-assisted processing.

This can include information about essential oils outside the app's reviewed oil library and personalised blend support.

Information you enter when using these features may be processed by services used by Base44 in order to generate the requested result.

AI-assisted information is intended to support the app's aromatherapy features and should not be treated as medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Please do not enter information that you do not want processed for the purpose of generating your requested result.

Subscriptions and purchases

Where Premium subscriptions are offered through the iOS app, Apple processes App Store payments.

Aromatherapy Companion does not receive or store your payment-card details.

RevenueCat is used to validate purchases and determine whether your Aromatherapy Companion Premium subscription is active.

RevenueCat receives the app account identifier needed to associate subscription access with your signed-in account, together with relevant purchase and subscription information.

RevenueCat does not need your journal entries, saved blends or wellness information in order to validate your Premium subscription.

Subscription cancellation is managed separately through your Apple account.

Service providers

Aromatherapy Companion relies on service providers required to operate the app. These currently include:

• Base44 — app backend, account services, authentication and app functionality.
• Apple — App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple where used.
• Google — Google sign-in where used.
• RevenueCat — purchase validation and Premium subscription entitlement management.

These providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy terms and the agreements that apply to the services they provide.

Advertising and tracking

Aromatherapy Companion does not use your saved oils, blends, journal entries or wellness information for third-party advertising.

This information is not used by Purple Clouds Holistics to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

How information is used

Information collected or processed through Aromatherapy Companion is used only where necessary to:

• provide and operate the app;
• authenticate and manage your account;
• keep your saved content associated with the correct account;
• provide requested app features;
• generate personalised blend or oil information;
• apply relevant safety checks;
• determine whether Premium access is active;
• maintain the security and reliability of the service; and
• respond to support, privacy or account requests.

Data retention

Account information and saved app content may be retained while your Aromatherapy Companion account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app's services.

Account-specific local copies may also be stored on your device for normal operation, synchronisation or recovery.

When you delete your Aromatherapy Companion account through the app, the app removes the profile and associated saved oils, saved blends and journal information held for that account as part of the account-deletion process.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law, for security purposes, or where it forms part of records that Purple Clouds Holistics is legally required to keep.

Account deletion

You can delete your Aromatherapy Companion account from Settings within the app.

Deleting your account removes the Aromatherapy Companion profile together with saved oils, saved blends and journal data associated with that account.

Deleting your Aromatherapy Companion account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store subscription.

If you have an active subscription, you should manage or cancel it separately through your Apple account.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable data-protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 where applicable, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

These can include rights to request access to your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion in appropriate circumstances, restrict or object to certain processing, and request information about how your personal information is used.

You may also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you have concerns about the handling of your personal information.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Aromatherapy Companion features, service providers or data-handling practices change.

The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
