Gratitude Attitude Privacy Policy

About this policy

Gratitude Attitude is provided by Purple Clouds Holistics. It is a personal wellbeing and self-reflection app.

This policy explains what information Gratitude Attitude collects, why it is used, how it is stored, and the choices available to you.

Purple Clouds Holistics does not sell personal information, and private journal entries, reflections and affirmations are not used for advertising or marketing.

Information you provide

Account information may include your email address, your name where provided, authentication information, and basic information supplied by Google or Apple where those sign-in methods are used.

You may also choose to save:

• things you are grateful for;
• a selected mood;
• answers to reflection prompts;
• personal affirmations and their categories;
• dates associated with journal entries.

You control what you type into the free-text journal and reflection fields, and you can edit or delete what you have saved.

Private journal content

Gratitude entries, reflections, moods and personal affirmations are associated with your account.

Access controls are applied so that users can only read, update and delete records associated with their own account.

Other Gratitude Attitude users cannot access another user's private journal entries, reflections or affirmations.

How information is used

Information is used to provide and secure your account, to save your journal entries and affirmations, to display your journal history, and to allow you to access and manage your own content.

Journal content is not analysed to diagnose medical conditions, to create health profiles, or to make automated decisions about you.

Daily messages

Gratitude Attitude includes a built-in library of daily messages.

The scheduled daily message is selected according to the date and does not require your personal information.

Choosing another message does not itself create personal account data, unless it later forms part of a journal entry you save.

Analytics and technical information

Gratitude Attitude is built and hosted using Base44.

Base44 provides platform analytics, which may include app visits, app-load events, page traffic and session duration.

Gratitude Attitude does not currently send custom analytics events.

Technical and security information may be processed as necessary to operate and secure the platform.

This information is not used by Purple Clouds Holistics for advertising.

Authentication

Where available, you may sign in using email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple.

Google sign-in requests basic identity information, and does not request unrelated Google Drive, Gmail or contacts access as part of normal sign-in.

Apple may provide name and email information, and may provide a private relay address when Hide My Email is selected.

Google, Apple and Base44 may process information necessary to provide authentication.

Authentication emails

Authentication emails, such as verification and password-reset messages, may be sent through Base44's email infrastructure, which may use SendGrid.

Storage and international processing

Gratitude Attitude currently uses Base44 for its database, authentication and hosting infrastructure.

Where the current Base44 service stores or processes app data in the United States, information may therefore be processed outside the United Kingdom, and the relevant provider data-protection arrangements apply to that processing.

Retention

Journal entries, affirmations and account information are retained while your account remains active, unless you delete them.

Deleted Base44 records may remain in the platform's Recently Deleted mechanism for up to 30 days, where that remains the applicable Base44 behaviour.

Some technical, security, back-up or legal records may be retained where that is necessary.

Account deletion

You can request deletion in Settings → Delete Account, and confirmation is required.

Account deletion requests deletion of the journal entries and personal affirmations associated with the account, and deletes the app user account.

Deleted records may remain in Base44's Recently Deleted system for up to the applicable retention period before permanent removal.

Creating another account with the same email address later does not restore deleted journal information.

Service providers

The following providers are used by Gratitude Attitude:

• Base44 — hosting, database, authentication and platform analytics.
• Google — where Google sign-in is chosen.
• Apple — where Sign in with Apple is chosen.
• SendGrid — authentication-related emails sent through Base44.

Notifications

iOS may request notification permission.

Gratitude Attitude does not currently send push notifications and does not use notification permission. Reminder functionality may be introduced later.

Advertising

Gratitude Attitude does not currently contain third-party advertising.

Journals, reflections, moods and affirmations are not used by Purple Clouds Holistics for targeted advertising or direct marketing.

Age requirement

Gratitude Attitude is intended for adults aged 18 or over, and is not designed to collect personal information specifically from children.

If you believe someone under 18 has provided personal information through the app, please contact purplecloudsholistics@gmail.com so that it can be reviewed and removed.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable data-protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 where applicable, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

These can include rights to request access to your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion in appropriate circumstances, restrict or object to certain processing, and request information about how your personal information is used.

You may also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
